Why I Ship Fast
Speed is a feature. The faster you get something out there, the faster you learn. Perfect is the enemy of done.
Speed is a feature. Not in a reckless way. In a strategic way.
The faster you get something out there, the faster you learn. You can't learn in a vacuum. You need real feedback from real people using real things.
Perfect is the Enemy
I used to spend months polishing things before showing anyone. What a waste. Most of those projects died before they ever launched.
Now I ship the minimum thing that works. Then I iterate based on what I learn. The first version is always embarrassing. That's the point.
How I Think About It
If I'm not a little uncomfortable shipping it, I probably waited too long. The discomfort is a feature. It means I'm pushing myself.
Ship fast. Learn fast. Iterate fast. That's the game.
